Adventures with the foreign exchange student

Back in 2010 I moved from downriver back to my old town. This meant spending junior year in my old high school with old friends. I was not too enthused about this. One day at lunch I went to talk to a few friends, and noticed an unfamiliar face sitting with them. Keep in mind this town is small, so everybody basically knows eachother. He had big bloodshot eyes. Of course back then my first reaction was to ask if he was high. His response "No, I'm just from Brazil". Bahahaha. This is how my friendship with Lucas, the foreign exchange student, began.

I was on juvenile probation at the time so had limited freedom. Which meant hanging out at my house. When we did, we had a tea party and a photo shoot on the trampoline.

When my family took a trip to Dave & Busters I decided to bring Lucas along. I was obsessed with DDR (dance dance revolution) at the time and thought this was the perfect opportunity to show off. To my surprise, Mr.Brazil was a pro and I stopped in shock mid song.

During lunch at school, I had told him I was going to get a beverage and asked if he wanted one. It was hilarious to me, because he had no idea what "beverage" meant.

I have a long note he wrote me back in school of english sayings translated to Portuguese. The one phrase I never forgot was "Eu Ti Amo" (spelling may be a bit off). This means I love you.

Little J's on her feet

I've wanted some Jordan's for the quality and style for quite some time now. To my surprise, my boyfriends 4-year-old sister got a pair! She cracks me up. Really works 'em. Hehe.

      On another note, I received my beautiful bracelet from Amy of Interpret As You May! Kate spade, and adorable as heck! Reminds me of Hello Kitty's bow a little bit. Amy has a matching one, so we're bracelet buddies. c: The giveaway included two other gifts I'm not sharing, as they're a perfect gift for somebody who just may read my blog. c;

How's your week been?

What the heck is the LIEBSTER AWARD?
"Well, it is only an AWESOME award given to up and coming bloggers. Given by other up and coming bloggers. Walk like an Egyptian

Walk like an Egyptian

The dress reminds me of a casual Egyptian look, with the blazer turning it into a business look.
The flats go perfectly.
I feel since the dress has decor near the top earrings are the only necessary jewelry.
Then top it off with a white and gold purse. Voila!

Current favored reads

Ohh Rocky
Another down to earth blogger, who enjoys crafting. Especially with movie quotes! She makes adorable buttons, has amazing favorites collections and much more to enjoy reading!

Mrs K
Mrs K is a very down to Earth blogger. Into her faith and her readers, she does many giveaways and personal posts.

Nerd Burger
I'd say this is more of a down to Mars blogger. c; She's in love with comics, awesome hairstyles, adorable outfits, and has her own Etsy shop with amazing "Nerd wear".

Lara Lizard

Lara is one to speak many languages. Traveling, her pet iguana, and style are her main focus'. Without a doubt a sweetheart, and a wonderful blog.

Who are a few of your current favorites?

Prom night

Prom is just around the corner, what on earth will you wear?! First, you should check out this post I came across. Very helpful, wish I had this type of thing when I went to prom, haha. Second, I put a lovely list together to browse through. c: To view more details, just click on the title link.

You can never go wrong with a strapless gown. I feel these go beautifully on any shape or size, and have an easy color match for your date.

1.One Shoulder Short Casual Dress
2.Short Black Prom Dress
3.Cute Organza Red and White Dress
Short prom dresses are great for showing off your shoes with a gorgeous short "gown" look. My favorite is by far the second, as it reminds me of a classy look.

Personally, I feel prom is for more of a gown or classy look while homecoming is for short poofy dresses.

A scaredy cat

Meet Taylor: A scaredy cat

My step-brothers 4-year-old cat/my roommate. Her name "Taylor" was inspired by Taylor Swift. Yes, this cat is named after Taylor Swift. When she was just a little kitten my step-brother and his ex adopted her, and both have an obsession with Miss.Swift. As the brother says "Swifty for life!".

Taylor is quite the average scaredy cat. Startled by the tiniest noises or objects. Yet, she's brave enough to boop the two older cats on the head. However, since she's so cute and the man of the condo loves her most she gets away with it. Half the time shown sympothy as if she was the one attacked. Her boops are nothing but simple boops on the head, as her front claws are gone. It's hilarious watching her throw a hissy fit and scratch the chair. I always tell her to keep it up, she's doing no damage, hehe.

I used to enjoy startling her, until I realized she was sincerely scared. How did I startle her? I'd use a raspy whisper voice and tell her "Monopoly will get you and you're whole family". She'd show me the face in picture two, and scurry away. This was always when my step-brother and I would be playing our daily game of monopoly. The picture above is proof she loves me, as she came a sat in my lap. After I pet her of course.

Fun Taylor fact: She has two gray marks on her. One looks like Mickey Mouse, while the other the shape of a heart. I'll show a picture of this in the near future, as I don't have one at the moment. You can kind of see Mickey in the last picture.

My ohh so interesting life

Right now I'm straightening my hair, about to put on mascara, and writing a blog post. I'm about to take my second visit to the dentist. Last time I finished up my root canal. I feel pretty amazed I made it through a root canal. Yet the dentist never did scare me. If you're interested, all they do is first numb you up. Then pull carve the tooth down and pull out the root (where the nerve is). Let me tell you, it couldn't feel better having that bad boy out! Next they fill it with a chalky medication for a week. The following visit they chunk it out, and put in these rubbery fake roots, and fill in your tooth. BAM! You now know how a root canal is done.

With my two new mini hoops, I learned how to go from a 2-beat-weave, throw the hoop over my opposite shoulder and catch it. I feel pretty cool when I successfully do this. I'm still trying to figure out how to do a 3-beat-weave without using your thumbs. :/

I recently got more into instagram. You can follow me here. My name "Gypzilla" derives from my kitty Gypsy. I used to call her Gypzilla when she'd attack toys "Godzilla style".I love entering giveaways with lots of instragram follow requests. Seeing wonderful pictures of how others are doing makes my day. I'll be sure to follow you back, just leave a comment with your instragram name.

My cat Gypsy is currently with my ex. Boooo. I miss her so much. However, I still live with 3 kitties who amuse me. Oldest being fat kitty (the skinniest), KC being the middle, and currently the youngest Taylor. You'll see a post about her soon. She's quite the scaredy cat.

How's your ohh so exciting life going?

Organization at it's best

Here I'll share a few organizing tricks where simplicity is at it's best. I found these pictures hunting through pinterest, so I take no credit for them. However, the concepts are very smart.

Personally I love the wire organization!

Liebster Award

I've been nominated by Mrs K for a Liebster award!

“This award is for newer blogs/bloggers who are nominated by another blogger who enjoys your posts (wowza! that’s cool- people like mah stuffs!) You post 11 random facts, and then answer 11 questions your nominator has given you. You then ask 11 questions of 11 other new bloggers and they give their random facts! Sort of ‘pay-it-forwardy’ and I love that.”

Looking for Alaska. Never got to finishing it, but know the end.

HA! Ironic you ask. I was on this rage that I had lice for about a year, but didn't. It resulted from my kitty's flea infestation that traumatized me while bathing her. I'm all better now, and know I'm clean. Haha.

If you could create your own perfume, what scent(s) would it contain?
I'd use Givenchi for inspiration. However, I love the smell of laundry detergent.

Mind your manners means to keep your manners in mind at all times. Mind your madness makes sense to me to, as we should always keep our madness in mind.

Audrey Hepburn (in my dreams). I've been told quite a lot I look like Emma Stone, so probably her.

All the small things

A few days ago my boyfriend and I hit up Denny's for a late night meet up. On our way in a young adult asked if we'd be able to buy him food, as he hasn't eaten in a couple days. We got him $4 all you can eat pancakes. He was very appreciative, even came by to shake the boyfriends hand thanking him.

While at the crane game in Denny's I was trying to get Spongebob. He was at the booth right next to the game and helped me out. We failed. No Spongebob here. As we were leaving Dan (the boyfriend) had to walk the opposite direction than me to get back home. Knowing what it's like struggling and lonley, I asked Mr.Pancakes to walk me home.

Man does that boy talk a lot. I invited him inside knowing my step-brother was home. They ended up hitting it off and played hours of video games.

He left that night with a blanket we gave him and a full tummy. Last I heard from him he's in a shelter a few miles away. He told me I'm a very special person, and he'll never forget what I did for him.

As dangerous as this concept is, it went smoothly and makes me feel amazing. Impacting another life for the positive always feels amazing. Maybe in the future well run into each other again. Hopefully he'll be doing better.

LED hooping with my MoodHoop - Your opinion needed

I figured I'd share a few pictures LED hooping. I apologize in advance for the poor quality, as they were taken from a phone. However, you can tell how awesome this hoop is! Click here to check them out!

I'm in need of advice.
I'd love to choreograph a dance routine to show fellow readers.
However, I can't seem to pick a song.
Any suggestions? All are much appreciated. c:
